Bumi Hills Safari Lodge first opened in 1975 and is a famous, well-loved Zimbabwe luxury lodge that overlooks the massive Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe, just a one-hour direct flight from “Wonder of the World” Victoria Falls. The panoramic vista is sublime and it is impossible not to exclaim “WOW” when stepping out to the pool area upon arrival. This astonishing sunrise-to-sunset 180-degree view, from a hilltop overlooking the game-rich shoreline, may be relished from the pool, bar, dining deck, Kukondwa Spa, fire-pit, wine-bar deck and the private verandas of all 10 premium rooms. After some years of neglect this Lake Kariba Safari Lodge has been totally revitalised to luxury levels never seen before, including a breathtaking signature infinity pool. Bumi Hills Safari Lodge re-opened in September 2009 and today offers 10 Premium and 10 Standard rooms complemented by so many awe-inspiring experiences in an authentic African eco-wilderness.

Bumi Hills Safari Lodge has 20 rooms, all facing the lake (10 Premium and 10 Standard set a little behind), each with solar-heated bath, shower, overhead fan, air conditioning, mini-bar, tea-coffee station, safe and private balcony or veranda.

All rooms have a view of the lake but the 10 Premiums work the Bumi “balm” with awe-inspiring sunrise-and-sunset vistas over the lake, historic Starvation Island of Operation Noah notoriety and game-rich shoreline. Larger groups of up to 60 people may relish the adventure of additional "elephant territory" accommodation aboard luxury houseboats, moored as “floating hotels” just a two-minute transfer from the lodge.

When you are not out on an intriguing activity you may totally relax at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge and enjoy many modern facilities. Commanding centre stage is the delightful infinity swimming pool, flanked by terrace cocktail bar, wellness spa, dining deck and fire-pit, all with inspiring vistas over the lake and game-rich shoreline.

The elegant main lounge is equipped with guest internet, reference books, card and other games while the adjoining TV lounge features a full bouquet of satellite channels and full-size snooker table. There’s a fine dining room and al fresco dining terrace.
