Overview

Paarl is the third-oldest town in South Africa with rich cultural and historical heritage.  Paarl gets its name from the huge granite that stands on the crest of Paarl Mountain.  Its famous for its attractive Cape Dutch homes, famous vineyards, mountain range and Drakenstein Prison, where Nelson Mandela spent his last years of incarceration.
